July - Still a Month of Celebrations

Welcome to our first monthly musing! Each month we’ll take a look back over the month reflecting on life, project progress and newness we can’t be without!

This month could be any other this year - still being careful about Coronavirus, a mixed bag for weather and spending lots of time in the garden. However, July is always busy with birthdays in our family (no change there), but this year was to be extra special as it would have been our wedding day.

Wedding - Cancelled?!

To be honest we’re okay about the decision to cancel. We’re certainly not the only couple affected, but it wasn’t worth the risk to our health and of our loved ones to go ahead as planned. We want to celebrate when it is safe to do so and when we can all relax.

Little did we know that some family members had secretly been arranging a special day for us to mark the occasion! This consisted of two tent gazebos in the garden with fairy lights, some socially distanced tables and a three-course meal any restaurant would be proud to serve. All lovingly put together by our family (wearing gloves and masks of course!)

We can wholeheartedly say the evening brought tears to our eyes and added another wonderful memory to our wedding journey. Although the final destination is not yet in sight, it’s out there - somewhere.

Project 3A Gets Underway

Our project 3A has started so we’ve been spending most days, every day prepping out little hearts out. Being forced to hunker down in the studio has allowed us to focus more than previously possible — and it has also been an extremely emotional process. You may have seen on our socials some concrete being poured? Well, we’re super excited it’s started and it couldn’t be for a nicer family. We’ll keep you updated on the progress on here and in the projects area of the site.

Life By Design*

This month’s newness we can’t be without is the pleated velvet chair from Cox and Cox we featured in our guide to accent chairs. Although velvet has been around for the past year, these look so comfy and marshmallowy, we couldn’t resist featuring them and it looks like Pinterest agrees!

It’s All is Good

It feels strange not opening up our home to family and visitors at this time of the year. The summer usually has long, light evenings filled with conversations, good food and drinks with friends. This year has had to be different for us all but it is important to remember what we still have and how fortunate we are. So we end this first musing with a message of joy and hope. Remind yourself everyday of how incredible it was you are here, at this moment, at this time. The odds were so stacked against you, it’s a miracle you’re even here! Remember to see passed everyday stresses and make time to see the bigger picture. We will get through this and have summer evenings with the ones we love again.
