August - The End Of Summer + A Place To Rest

Here in the UK, August has felt a little lack lustre. This is probably to do with the less than wonderful weather - but in reality, we have been spoilt over the spring! Despite the downturn in weather, you can still enjoy our wonderful scones we shared the recipe of this month. Check out the recipe here.

The days do feel like they are beginning to get shorter but there’s still plenty to be grateful for. Here’s our summary of August and what we’re looking forward to in September.

A Family and Friends Garden

Family and friends are more important than ever during the pandemic. Making the most of the warmer months has been key to maintaining our mental wellbeing. We feel it is important that there will still be a place for the most vulnerable to continue to see their loved ones should there be a second wave.

Now is the time to invest in your garden, creating an outdoor space that can be enjoyed during the colder months. Ideas include gazebos with bench seats, blankets and fire pits. Don the ski jacket and make a hot tea! Just imagine your on the mountain side, partaking in a little apre ski! Check out our post about the healing power of gardens to see how welcoming the outdoors in can change your life.

Project Maple Tree

Our project Maple Tree House is pressing ahead. The concept layout has been agreed with the clients and we are moving forward with beginning the next stage of design. The elevations are coming together so we’ll have a pretty good idea of what it’s going to look like very soon.

We’ll be sharing a post soon about how to lay out a new home in terms of the plot and interior to make it work for your family.

Life By Design*

This month’s design we can’t be without is a wet bar, like the dark moody example from our why you need a bar post. We’ll certainly be having at least one of these in our dream home build!

Looking Ahead

We have lots happening in September! Having taken delivery of bricks and blocks for project 3A we’re expecting to see more happening on site before the winter. We’ll update our Instagram page and blog as things develop!

Our planning appeal project for Montana is due to be decided very soon. Our best wishes go to the lovely young couple, who are pinning their hopes on the outcome to build their first home.

Of course, we’ll be sharing plenty more ideas and inspo on our blog and Pinterest pages.
